We are always looking for people who could work in a rural areas in Lorn and the Isles.
Even a brief period of respite can benefit the Unpaid Carer to cope better in their daily lives. This helps to promote and maintain independence and choice for both the individual Carer and the Cared-for.
About You – We are looking for staff who are upbeat, caring and have the desire to support unpaid carers and cared-for, to have the best life possible. SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 6 is desirable but not essential. However, you must be committed to undertaking this qualification to meet the requirements of the SSSC. A Driving licence, business insurance and the use of a car, with an up-to-date MOT, for work purposes are required.
Duties - the Care Attendant is employed to provide respite for unpaid carers, to allow them to have a break, without having to worry about leaving their loved ones. This could be in the person’s own home or outside the home as directed by the manager.
Activities relating to individual service users will be as specified in their personal plans. Tasks and activities are carried out in accordance with the Health and Social Care Standards, the scheme’s policies and procedures and health and safety requirements.
Hours – the post is on a sessional basis depending on the need for respite.
